“Think Purple” - Weddings in 2006
What’s the latest color palette for weddings? In it’s “Top Trends for 2006,” TheKnot.com tells us: “Think Purple. Last year it was teal; this year a more royal shade, purple, is in vogue in every tone -- from the lightest lavender to a deep eggplant.”
The tented wedding reception pictured above made good use of purple linens. The bridal party sat at a table with a more traditional pearl raw silk overlay. But the guests were seated at tables dressed in vibrant purples: wine taffeta underclothes, amethyst raw silk overlays with gemstone raw silk border, and plum poly seat cushion covers. The purple-themed linens were alternated with lime and kiwi linens.
TheKnot also suggests: “What better way to take your aubergine palette up a notch? With a great pattern. Think starbursts, swirls, and playful dots on anything from the invite to the bridesmaid dresses, wedding cake, and cocktail napkins.”
The subtle pattern of Lilac Blossoms can add accents of purple to a more traditional table setting. Or bring in a pattern with an overlay of Lilac Vine Sheer or Lilac Chanel Too. Introduce purple into your place settings with Orchid Hemstitch Napkins.
The large pattern on our elegant Tinkerbell Cverlay works great with lilac and sage undercloths, napkins, and chair covers. For something bolder, you might try the sparkly Amethyst Coture or a Purple Chinoiserie Table Runner.
Whatever tone or pattern you choose, purple linens are a great way to feel like royalty on your special day.
