When you typically think of table runners, you imagine a runner spanning the entirety of a dining table. To add a fun design twist, place multiple short runners across the full-length table to add contrast. Shorter runners going across the tables will have all the impact of a longer one, but you’ll get to show off the gorgeous surface of your dining room table and create a rhythm across the space at the same time.
 

FLORAL RUNNERS

We simply adore a floral table runner. Combine greenery and florals and place them down the center of your table to create a voluminous runner. You can add fresh elements such as fruits and vegetables into the runner for a unique addition – and you can never have too many candles!


 

No worries if you don’t have an unlimited floral budget: There are more than a few gorgeous faux options available to get the job done. Grab some greens from a local florist (or a forest field near by!) and create your own runner with greenery.

NEUTRAL RUNNERS

A table runner with an emphasis on natural elements will elevate a venue’s surroundings and add a peaceful feel. For a more minimal look, use both a runner and coordinating tablecloth.

To keep things interesting, it is important to choose a table runner in a contrasting color or pattern than the table cloth or table surface itself, so that it stands out. Ideally, the length of the table runner should either fall halfway down the table, or hang to the floor with a nice puddle to create a truly dramatic effect.
